Small and large businesses are starting to invest in social media as a way to engage influencers, gather online intelligence, and build relationships. Yet many are missing one of the simplest tactics to encourage customers or buyers to share content: social sharing buttons.
And, it seems, those tiny buttons can have a significant impact. The Twitter share button, which allows web page readers to tweet the link, generates 7x more link mentions than sites without a social share button, according to a report from SEO company BrightEdge.
Yet just under half of websites (46%) don’t use social share buttons at all, says the same report. For details, see this post on Marketing Pilgrim by Cynthia Boris.
