Yesterday LinkedIn beta launched a new feature called LinkedIn Today, a social news product for business professionals. LinkedIn Today delivers news based on three elements gathered from your LinkedIn profile.

  1. What your connections and coworkers – people you know – are sharing.
  2. What your industry peers are sharing.
  3. What stories are interesting to a wider audience, outside of your industry.

With the LinkedIn Today launch there is also a mobile app for iPhone to get your news on the go. Two unique features on the app is the ability to see what your connections are reading and the option to “save” articles that you can then read later.

LinkedIn Today is part of the company’s new product strategy. Also recently beta launched was LinkedIn Signal. LinkedIn Signal combines LinkedIn and Twitter updates into a single newsfeed. Signal has eight filters based on your network, industry, company affiliation, location, university, time published and hashtag. Using these filters you can make your Signal specific to your needs.

Check out full details about LinkedIn Today at the LinkedIn Blog.
