Social Media Off The Wall: Reality Hits You Hard Bro
Social Media Off The Wall is a post every Friday where I will share funny and entertaining stories or digital media clips that are trending & being shared frequently on social networks. If you have a great story or media bit that you think I can use in SMOTW, please feel free to share it with me via Twitter (@mlewii | #smotw).
Best Interview Ever?
Phoenix resident, George Lindell was, “was driving down Northern Ave, getting ready to run into Albertson’s, and all of a sudden I was just minding my own business – BAM! Hit me hard right from the back!” Basically a man with a medical condition lost control of his car running into George and then into a power pole. Watch George’s full interview:
The video has been viewed over a million times (several different versions on YouTube currently). George should become a reporter; he tells the story so passionately. The video was just made into a “Songify” by the Gregory Brothers; who struck gold with the Antoine Dodson’s Bed Intruder song (over 90 million views).
Chuck Testa Says, “Thank you.”
If you did not see Chuck Testa’s original video (now has 4 million views) that was featured in last week’s Social Media Off The Wall, you are really missing out. Well Chuck made his return this week to thank everyone for the overwhelming support of the Official Ojai Valley Taxidermy TV Commercial.
What seems like a simple Thank You Message has been viewed over 300,000 times and landed Chuck Testa on the YouTube Trends Blog again. Will this be the last of Chuck Testa? Nope!
Talented Trash Man
I am not a fan of Reality TV shows like American Idol, America’s Got Talent, and Simon Cowell’s new X-Factor because rarely do you see something special. Most of the singers who compete on these shows sing other artists’ work which makes the shows seem like celebrated karaoke contests. Chris Rene had the guts to audition with his own song and music and absolutely amazes the crowd:
The video has been seen almost a 500,000 times on YouTube. His background story is very touching; a trash man performing just 70 days after getting out of rehab. I have a feeling that this will not be the last time we see Chris Rene. What did you think of Chris Rene’s audition?
