Execs Not Confident About Their Social Strategy – Survey
Does your social media strategy rock? If your answer begins with “Um,” “Kind of,” “Maybe,” or “No,” then you’re not alone. About 42% of businesses reported their social strategy was just keeping up and 33% felt their company was behind, according to a survey from Jive Software and Penn, Schoen & Berland. That translates into a full 75% who say, at best, their strategy is just okay. Only 17% felt they were ahead of the social business curve.
What’s more, the survey revealed that while almost 80% of executives reported that social business strategy was somewhat or very important to future brand success, only 27% listed it as a top strategic priority.
So how do brands transform that “Um…” into “Yes!”? There’s no one single answer, but a few must-have tactics include writing/implementing/reviewing social media strategy, engaging in comprehensive social media monitoring, and investing in the right in-house or outsourced staff to interact on social channels.
