What Social Media Strategy Do You Use?

August 2, 2011 | By | No Comments

“There’s no single best reason for embarking on the social media seas, no ‘one size fits all’ template for planning the voyage, and once you get onboard you’ll find no hard-and-fast rules.” –Mike Lewis, CEO Social Strategy1

Mike and fellow thought leaders understand that social media must be customizable in order to benefit both the customer and the brand. This does not mean that every business must re-write the script on social media, but compile the most useful networks and sites and discover the best approach for your brand.

Some businesses think that they have no reason to be using social media, but their brands begin to suffer because they lack digital involvement.  A great example of this is Borders Bookstores; they watched Amazon develop new ways to distribute & sell books and tried to hold on to useless bookstores.  They just filed for bankruptcy, were forced to liquidate 399 stores and fire over 10,000 employees.

Mike Lewis dissects the many important aspects and areas of a Social Media Strategy in his new book entitled, Social Media Leadership: How to Get Off the Bench and Into the Game. He takes you through the listening, monitoring, planning, and engagement stages necessary to putting a successful social media strategy into action for your business.

The book will be available Mid-August via and official website, Stay tuned for more information on release dates, upcoming contests, and free book content!  If you wish to learn more about the book or how Social Strategy1 can create a customized digital strategy for your business, contact us here.
