Social More Effective than Paid Search (and it’s More Fun!), SMBs Say

Nearly three-quarters of small businesses find that social media is more effective than paid search, says social media marketing platform Roost. Their survey, which was highlighted by BizReport, also found that SMBs were attracted to social media by its low cost and its ease of use, which aligns with the findings of a recent Pitney Bowes study.

Another interesting tidbit to come out of Roost’s survey: 45% of SMBs say the primary reason they use social media is that “it’s a fun way to interact with people.”

But what does effective mean to the bottom line? That is what’s left to be discovered. In the study 45% of the respondents said they’re not sure how to measure the effectiveness of their social efforts.
