SMOTW: Teach Me How To Gundy, Flashmob Proposal, & The Fastest Couch
Social Media Off The Wall is a post every Friday where I will share funny and entertaining stories or digital media clips that are trending & being shared frequently on social networks. If you have a great story or media bit that you think I can use in SMOTW, please feel free to share it with me via Twitter (@mlewii | #smotw).
Teach Me How To Gundy!
If you watch college football I am sure you have seen the “I’m A Man, I’m 40!” speech and video gold that Oklahoma State Head Football Coach Mike Gundy provided us during the 2007 season. He is a funny personality and I knew this would not be the last time we got a laugh from Mr. Gundy. Last weekend the Oklahoma State Cowboys won a big game against conference rival, the Texas A&M Aggies. After the game was over the team was celebrating in the locker room and somehow Gundy got himself in the mix (and on film). Watch the new Dance Sensation about to sweep the nation, called “The Gundy” (skip video below to 3:25 to see the dance).
The video has over 125,000 views in just 4 days and Remix Videos have already started popping up on YouTube. Will you be testing out “The Gundy” on the dance floor anytime soon?
Disney Flashmob Proposal
We have seen many amazing and well thought out marriage proposals trending on YouTube this year, but Jamin’s Disney Proposal is one of the coolest that I have ever seen. See for yourself:
According to the Disney Blog, “Jamin had to get permission from Disney security to hold it at Downtown Disney. Originally, they wanted to do it closer to the park entrance, but were moved to this location. It took many nights of secret rehearsals at a dance Company Jamin performs with (Marvels Dance Company) to pull this off, but judging by the look in Val’s face, I would say it was worth it.”
The video has around 200,000 views in just 4 days and has been trending on YouTube recently. What do you think of the Flashmob Proposal?
World’s Fastest, Couch?
Ice Break, an Iced Coffee maker in Australia has come up with a great viral video campaign for their brand called “Add A Motor To It”. The title tells it all; they simply take real world objects and add motor to it. In their latest video they try to break the land speed record for a…. couch!
Although this video has nothing to do with selling iced coffee, almost 100,000 people now know about the Ice Break Brand. What else would you like to see them add a motor to?
