NHL Scores with Social Media Policy

September 21, 2011 | By | One Comment

The National Hockey League will implement a social media policy this upcoming season. The policy includes a 2-hour pre-game social media blackout as well as blackouts during and immediately following games, during practice, and during team obligations.

Team staff and players will also be held responsible for their social media communications in the same way they’re held accountable for other communications with the public. The new policy prohibits social media statements that have or are intended to have a prejudicial effect on the NHL, the sport, the club, or the league’s officiating staff.
