MISSING: Mobile Marketing Strategies

A survey from online business network MerchantCircle found that although small businesses are strapped for time and resources, they’ve largely adopted social media as part of their marketing strategies. However the survey also revealed that merchants haven’t yet latched onto another growing technology: mobile. MerchantCircle found:

  • Less than 15% of businesses engage in mobile advertising and marketing
  • More than 50% have no plans to engage mobile strategies in the upcoming months
  • 74% said they don’t know how to reach customers through mobile marketing

On-the-go consumers increasingly turn to mobile to do everything from find a restaurant that features a free kids’ night to a florist who will deliver on Sundays. With relatively few small businesses leveraging the power to connect with mobile consumers, there’s a tremendous opportunity for companies to step into mobile marketing before the competition does.
