Is Like the New Link?
Did you hit the Like button today? If you did, you’re one of the 65 million Facebook users who endorse content daily, according to digital marketer Steve Rubel. He asks whether the Like will replace the links that have been the web’s primary “traffic signal network.”
Steve shares three reasons the Like is becoming an increasingly important part of social media strategy:
- A Like is an explicit endorsement of the content.
- Instead of sending the user to find the content, the Like brings the content to the user.
- It’s easier to hit the Like button than to create a hypertext link.
