Got Spare Twitter Characters? Donate Them.
Have you tapped social media to promote your corporate stewardship initiatives? Ben & Jerry’s has. The maker of uber-yummy ice creams has asked Twitter users to donate their spare characters to promote World Fair Trade Day on May 14th.
How does it work? A Twitter app adds a message and link regarding World Fair Trade Day into the unused portion of a Tweet. For example, if a user tweets 100 characters, the leftover 40 will contain a message about the event and a link to more info.
