Facebook Now Friendlier to Franchisors

Do you own or manage a franchise or multi-location business? Using social networks successfully in these environments presents unique challenges. But Facebook is making the process a little easier with the addition of a feature that allows a single brand Page (i.e. the franchisor) to link to each physical Place location (i.e. the franchisee). Expion Director of Enterprise Accounts Erica McClenny, in a guest post on Social Media Explorer, shares a thorough review of the addition. Here are a few highlights:

  • Below the name of each individual Place location, Facebook will display a link back to the brand Page.
  • A brand Page will feature a new tab to display each Place location on a map, no matter who owns the location. There is also a search feature allowing Facebook users to search for locations by zip code.
  • Brand Page admins have automatic access to the Place locations, so individual owners will need to work with the corporate office to gain admin rights to the connected location.
