Last week, I watched employees at a local craft shop stock Christmas items. And as the signs of years’ end creep up on us (whether we’re ready for it or not) it’s time for the inevitable 2012 predictions to begin. And so we start with digital marketing trends from Lisa Arthur, CMO at integrated marketing software company Aprimo. In an interview with BizReport’s Kristina Knight, Lisa identifies key trends, including:

  • It’s all about the data. Digital marketers, faced with continued pressure to cut costs, will need to become more rigorous about identifying where spend goes. The result? More emphasis on data management and analysis.
  • It’s all about the customer. Lisa says brands need to offer more engagement, more value and less hype by developing “deeper insights about what motivates your audience.”
