How are you measuring online marketing and social media efforts? Ellie Mirman writes that Internet marketing company HubSpot collects data on everything and uses it to inform their marketing. In her post 6 Ways to Transform Your Marketing with Data, Ellie shares what she’s learned from using those online measurement tools. Check out two of her tips:

  • One suggestion is “stay on track and learn constantly with real-time data.” Amen. There’s no reason to wait until the end of the month or the quarter to find out a campaign has gone off track. Metrics provide the ability to make the mid-course adjustments that build success.
  • Ellie also suggests that a brand learn about its market. Use metrics to discover which problems your target market wants you to solve. Valuable marketing intelligence is out there—brands just need to listen.
