11-Tweet Press Release – Clever or Confounding?

Last week, web marketing firm HubSpot acquired social media marketing company oneforty. Frank Reed on Marketing Pilgrim reports that the news is in how HubSpot shared the press release: it was tweeted in 11 separate messages, each with a “Tweet This” link at the end. Check out a sample:

It’s certainly a clever blend of social media and public relations; as Marketing Pilgrim commenter Nick Stamoulis posted it’s a smart way to keep the news alive in a user’s feed for an extended period. But is it too much to tweet a full news release this way?  What do you think?
