Are You Ready for a LinkedIn Power Lunch?

May 20, 2011 | By | No Comments

What are you doing for lunch? You could cruise the web for upcoming Memorial Day specials or check out the NHL playoff stats. Or you could invest a few minutes in boosting your own social media presence by updating your LinkedIn profile.

Marketer and business communications expert Chris Brogan shares two easy actions to do once each week to power up your professional network on LinkedIn: edit your profile and write 5 quality recommendations.

Chris gives us a great reminder to review those social media profiles that are becoming increasingly important for search as well as connection. So I’m going to break this social network building tactic down into lunchtime-sized bites and start today by updating my profile, a task that hasn’t been done in an embarrassingly long time.

How much can you power up your own social media presence over lunch?

P.S. For actionable tips on writing a compelling recommendation, check out another entry from Chris: LinkedIn Recommendation Tips.
